I thought this deck had meta potential when I first started working on it because it's probably the most skillful deck I've ever run and when it gets going, it's probably also the most explosive.

I stopped developing the Metalfoes deck because I ultimately felt it didn't have enough reliable starters to compete with the meta. I haven't played in a while, but I can give you my most recent deck list (from the previous OCG ban list). I think that alone would prevent anything comparable to the current Dragon Link/Infernoble Knight format. In my experience, all of the meta-relevant pendulum decks are more non-linear and difficult to build/pilot than the current dominant combo decks. I think bringing back Electrumite is enough to make the deck meta-relevant without breaking it. The fact that you can potentially loop Astrograph at least 2 times, and sometimes more, makes it even more insane. Also, if Melcaster or Bismugear is still on field at the end of the combo, they both float, which makes it even more likely that you will have scales to follow up. I've been testing OCG Metalfoes and you can either end on like 7-8 interruption boards or something like Apollousa, VFD, Savage, and Vortex with 4-5 cards in hand in both cases. The amount of advantage it generates with Melcaster and Bismugear is absolutely absurd. Personally, I feel like Zefra Endymion is the best way to play the deck in the current format, because the lightweight nature of the Zefra engine allows you to run more Halqifibrax combo pieces (including D/D and Pendulum Magicians) as well as hand traps.Īstrograph Sorcerer, on the other hand, definitely cannot come back in the current TCG format. The power level of the deck is still very high, but most of the lists I see in the TCG are pure Endymion, which is not optimal for the current format because the prevalence of hand looping means running hand traps is pretty much required. I feel like pendulums are somewhat dismissed because there have been very few tops with it since Electrumite was banned, but I think the main issue is lack of representation. Just to be clear, I think Electrumite is a fair card and should be unbanned, but it is not comparable to say Rusty Bardiche, as it will have actually significant meta implications.
